Organisers of the 2012 London Olympics are considering adopting the ticket
resale system used at Wimbledon to fill venues and avoid the embarrassing
sight of empty seats. The plan would allow spectators leaving events early
the option of handing their tickets back to be resold at a discount or given
away free. Ground passes are also being considered to give ticketless fans
access to a big screen inside the Olympic Park in East London. The move
comes as Beijing organisers are being asked to explain why there are vacant
seats in the arenas despite the Games being sold out.
